Mediums: Digital Illustration with Scanned Analog Elements Roles: Illustrator, Concept Developer
This piece is inspired by a memory of my grandmother threading marigolds which she grew from our front yard into a garland. Marigolds hold deep cultural significance in India, used in festivals, rituals, and offerings. In this moment, she brings that tradition into our American home, carrying culture and care across continents through a simple, familiar gesture. The marigold at the bottom was drawn by hand and scanned into the digital illustration to connect personal memory with process. Beneath her hands is a close-up of her pet turtle’s shell symbolic of the sense of home she built around her.
